Welcome

Welcome to our public consultation website.

Morrisons is planning to build a new store on land at Ury Estate. The site is on the north west outskirts of Stonehaven, bound by the A90 along the southern boundary and the Slug Road (A957) to the west.

The Estate’s owners, FM Ury Ltd, obtained planning permission for commercial development including a new supermarket in 2016; this consent was amended last year to accommodate Morrisons’ operational requirements.

To complement the store, we would also like to provide a new petrol filling station. We need to submit a further planning application to Aberdeenshire Council, but before they make a decision on our plans we want to hear your views.

You can use this website to learn about our plans, and we will keep it up to date with the latest news at each stage of the planning process. You can also find out more about how Morrisons operates, the jobs we create, how we work with local suppliers, our community activities and the measures we’re taking to improve our environmental footprint.

Most importantly, we’re asking you, the local residents, to give us your feedback. Please use the comment form to tell us what you think – your comments will help us create the best possible plan for Stonehaven.
